The Peoria Opportunities Foundation is dedicated to being a catalyst for positive change resulting in community revitalization.

The Peoria Opportunities Foundation was initially established by the Peoria Housing Authority in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. In 2008, it transitioned into an independent organization. It’s purpose and history is developing self-sufficiency and economic wealth for low-income families and individuals. The primary mission of Peoria Opportunities Foundation is to be a catalyst for positive change resulting in community revitalization. Peoria Opportunities achieves this goal by both crafting affordable housing solutions and engaging in broad-based community organizing efforts.

Affordable Housing Development

We are committed to creating affordable housing opportunities that make a positive impact on people's lives, contribute to community development, and address societal inequalities. Through collaboration, sustainability, advocacy, and innovation, we work to build a better future for individuals, families and our community.

“The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only by its people feeling that they are worthwhile.”

— Fred Rogers

Broad-Based Community Organizing

POF’s broad-based community organizing initiative aims to empower and mobilize diverse community members to collectively address social, economic, and political issues. We do this by building grassroots influence and creating positive change by fostering participation, collaboration, and advocating for equitable solutions.
